Terms of Use

The terms for using Stillscribe and buying Stillscribe Pro.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing or using Stillscribe (“the App”), provided by NetSoftTouch (“we”, “us” or “our”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not download or use the App. Our Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information and is part of these Terms.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to install and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license covers the App only; it does not transfer ownership of the App to you.

2.1 Apple App Store

Your use of the App is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These Terms add to the Standard EULA; where the two conflict, the Standard EULA prevails. You also acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and NetSoftTouch only, not Apple. NetSoftTouch, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
• If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
• NetSoftTouch, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
• If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, NetSoftTouch, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, have the right to enforce them against you.

3. Stillscribe Pro: subscriptions and purchases

Recording and transcription are free and unlimited. The free plan includes 3 AI summaries every 7 days and plain-text export. Stillscribe Pro adds unlimited AI summaries, custom summary templates, sending action items to Reminders, PDF, Markdown and SRT export, search filters and the Face ID lock. Pro is offered as:

Prices may differ by country and are shown in your local currency in the App before you buy. The price shown at the time of purchase applies.

• Payment: payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. All payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your payment details.
• Auto-renewal: a subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price and for the same length, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Free trial: if you start the 7-day free trial of Pro Yearly, you will be charged $29.99 (or the local price shown) for one year when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The App offers to remind you a day before. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. A free trial is available once per Apple Account.
• Managing and cancelling: you can manage or turn off auto-renewal at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or from Manage subscription in the App’s Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Restoring purchases: Pro is tied to your Apple Account. On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling, tap Restore Purchases in the App.
• Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases.
• Changes to plans and prices: we may change Pro features, plans or prices. A price increase for an existing subscription follows Apple’s rules, which may require your consent before you are charged the new price. Features of the free plan described above as free and unlimited (recording and transcription) are not being moved behind Pro for existing users.

4. Your content

You own your recordings, imported files, transcripts, summaries and notes (“Your Content”). The App processes and stores Your Content on your device, and we do not receive, host or claim any rights to it.

Your Content is stored only on your device, and we have no copy of it. You are responsible for keeping backups and exporting what you want to keep. We are not able to recover recordings that are deleted, or lost with a device.

5. Recording laws and consent

Recording people may be regulated where you live and where they are. Some U.S. states and many countries require the consent of all people in a conversation before it is recorded. You agree to:

• use the App only to record conversations, lectures and events that you are lawfully allowed to record;
• tell people that you are recording and get every consent required by law, by your school or employer, or by the rules of the venue; and
• respect copyright and other rights in what you record, for example lectures and performances, and use recordings only as the law and the rights holder allow.

You are solely responsible for how you use the App and for any recording you make with it.

6. Transcripts and AI summaries

• Transcripts are produced by automatic speech recognition and summaries by an on-device AI model (Apple Intelligence). Both can be incomplete or wrong: they may mishear words, miss or invent details, attribute statements incorrectly, or get dates and action items wrong. Check important information against the original recording.
• The App is not a substitute for professional advice and is not intended for situations where errors could cause harm, such as medical, legal or financial decisions, or as an official or certified record.
• Transcription currently supports English speech only. AI summaries require an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on, and their availability depends on Apple, your device, its language settings and your region. Apple’s safety systems may decline to summarize some content.
• You must not use the AI features to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or that violates Apple’s acceptable use requirements for Apple Intelligence.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the App for any illegal purpose, including recording people unlawfully, surveillance, stalking or harassment;
• copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease the App, or decompile, reverse engineer or attempt to extract its source code, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
• circumvent the App’s purchase checks, usage limits or security features.

8. Intellectual property

The App, including its software, design, text, graphics and the Stillscribe name and logo, is owned by NetSoftTouch and protected by intellectual property laws. Apart from the license in Section 2, these Terms grant you no rights to them. Apple, iPhone, Apple Intelligence, Siri, Face ID and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.

9. Third-party services

The App relies on Apple services, including the App Store for purchases and iOS features for speech recognition, Apple Intelligence, Reminders, Spotlight and sharing. Their use is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. When you share or export content to another app or service, that app’s terms apply.

10. Changes and availability

We may update, change or discontinue features of the App. The App depends on iOS features that Apple may change. We are not liable for any change or interruption that results from an iOS update or from Apple changing or withdrawing a feature.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT TRANSCRIPTS OR SUMMARIES WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE, OR THAT RECORDINGS WILL NEVER BE LOST. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NETSOFTTOUCH WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, RECORDINGS, PROFITS, GOODWILL OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, OR FROM RELYING ON ANY TRANSCRIPT OR SUMMARY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP AND STILLSCRIBE PRO IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold NetSoftTouch harmless from any claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App in breach of these Terms or of the law, including any recording made without required consent.

14. Termination

These Terms apply until ended by you or us. Your rights under them end automatically if you fail to comply with them. You can end them at any time by deleting the App. Sections 4 to 6 and 8 to 16 survive termination. Ending these Terms does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it as described in Section 3.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws that apply where NetSoftTouch is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will give notice in the App. By continuing to use the App after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
